===== Overview =====

This article collects advanced gameplay tips gathered from community experience, aimed at players who have already mastered the basics and want to optimize their efficiency. Topics covered include ship control, economy, PvP, hero development, Gang cooperation, and equipment management.

==== Ship Control ====

* Each ship can be controlled independently: drag the ship from the right-side panel directly onto the map. Useful for chasing weakened enemies or capping towers with multiple ships simultaneously.
  * In large battles, 1–2 strong players can keep smaller ships at a distance to finish off fleeing enemies.
  * If a ship is moving slowly, check the food supply on board. Enable "Auto-Replenish" at the port to ensure the ship never runs out of food. Food can also be added directly from the inventory.

**Proven gold-earning methods:**
# Auto-trade with rare goods on long routes (Level 3 port to Level 3 or Level 1/2 port, depending on map distance)

The daily 80% discount on Stone at the dock merchant also reduces Infamy points.

Auto-trade profit depends on: port level, route distance, and active buffs (e.g., ports controlled by your Gang). Early Gold investments at the Governor to raise Reputation pay off on all future trade routes.

==== Gang and Cooperation ====

* Spend Gang Coupons on Level 18 chests. Hold the chests until you can complete missing Sail set pieces rather than opening them immediately.
  * Always help Gang members with Krakens, ship raids, and Squad Raids — even after hitting your own daily limit. Joint attacks on stronger targets yield significantly better rewards for everyone.
  * Read Gang mail every time you open the app — important coordination info gets easily missed otherwise.
  * Adjust port tax rate when the Gang controls a port: Port → Governor's House → Set Tax.

==== PvP and Combat ====

* When attacking a fleeing player: stay right next to their ship. As long as combat has been initiated and the enemy remains in range, your ship attacks automatically. Effective counter against auto-traders.
  * Increase tower capture speed: Level 1 speed-up = 2 points/ship, Level 4 = 20 points. The leader's main ship counts as 3 points.
  * Use the Wanted List: tap the Infamy icon (red skull, top center) → View Warrant. Defeating wanted players delivers Gold Coins by mail.

==== Heroes and Trials ====

**Recommended heroes for Trials (by priority):**
  * Damage: Orphelia, Sharky, Griffin, Bones
  * Support: Ahab, Cursed Ed, Cordelia
  * Solid additions: Lester, Boa, Qi Lanting

Complete Trials daily — the higher the level, the more free Hero EXP per day. Stronger heroes significantly improve resource gathering, PvP performance, and Squad Raid outcomes.

==== Ship Equipment ====

* Ship parts do not have identical stats even at the same rarity tier. A Gold sail for an Artillery build might roll a "Blaze" stat — useless for that build type. Compare parts carefully before upgrading.
  * Disassemble unwanted ship parts into Stones: Inventory → Ship Parts → Recycling icon (top right) → select parts.
  * Customize sail color: Ship → zoom out until cannon, sail, and rudder are visible → tap sail → Brush icon → choose color/pattern. (Requires a Paint Bucket.)
  * Adjust trade goods and food storage capacity: Ship → Hold → Hold → Modify.

==== Ghost Ships ====

Ghost ships continue distributing good items to the Top 3 even after the main reward pool is exhausted. Weaker players can still reach Top 3 by positioning a ship further away from the main group. Coordinate in groups of 3 so that all participants receive rewards.

==== Krakens ====

Kraken tokens (up to 5–6) can be banked by simply not redeeming them. If a stronger Kraken appears in 1–2 days, it is worth holding the tokens. For maximum reward, always attack alongside Gang members.

==== Map Exploration ====

* Regularly sweep the entire map for Incidents — these yield permanent percentage bonuses to damage, armor, and speed-ups.
